Flower Crown Workshops by Rebecca Ray
September 8, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Rebecca is a Meriam Mer woman from the Torres Strait Islands currently living on the Gold Coast.
She is a contemporary weaver and visual artist, providing workshops in fibre jewellery making and baskets across the coast. Rebecca has learnt all of her skills through collaboration with other Indigenous peoples and acknowledges the importance of sharing, listening and learning through these practices.
During the Spring Festival, Rebecca will offer workshops in flower crown making, using the recycled offcuts of the flowers used during installation.
Participants will weave their own flower crowns that can be worn throughout the festival and taken home. These are walk up workshops held on the Eastern corner of Tedder Avenue and Peak Avenue.
